What began as a quiet gesture of gratitude became a ripple of creativity, storytelling, and shared love for the game.
Bob’s Board was my first. I had just started toying with cribbage designs, adapting a template I found on Etsy into something with my own feel. Bob, one of the amazing people who cares for my dogs while I’m away on shifts as a paramedic, has always gone the extra mile—and never asks for a penny more. When I offered him a gift, he suggested giving it to his future son-in-law at the bachelor party. That small spark of generosity launched the build.
Jenny’s Board followed soon after. After seeing Bob’s board on Facebook, she reached out asking for one for her mother, a cribbage lover living in assisted living. Jenny dreamed of a board shaped like a loon, but when I couldn’t make the shape happen, I leaned into theme: a custom lid engraving of a loon and a set of loon-themed playing cards to match. The result was something personal, symbolic, and uniquely hers.
These builds began as gratitude and evolved into storytelling—proof that a simple game can carry deep meaning when crafted with intention.
Material: Both boards were made from cedar — selected for warmth, natural beauty, and timeless game-night charm.
