When Roslyn Fenn reached out after seeing Humidor No. 1, she wanted a piece worthy of her husband’s recent promotion to Lieutenant. This build pairs traditional woodworking with precise CNC and laser detailing to create a set that reflects pride, dedication, and the significance of the moment.

Premium Black Walnut Construction
Tight joinery, clean lines, and a finish that brings out the dramatic figuring in the walnut.
Custom Firefighter Helmet Shield
Designed specifically for this build — a real white leather front with faux-leather layered backing, mounted inside the lid as a personal nod to his promotion.
IAFF Ashtray
Maple center with cherry sides, CNC-carved bowl, laser-burned IAFF logo, integrated challenge-coin slot, cork insert, heat-gun streaking, and a Walrus Oil finish.
Precision Hardware & Fitment
Brass corners, hinges, and hasp; fully aligned lid and hasp; felt-lined contact points; removable hydrometer; mounted humidifiers with access space preserved.

The Experience

Though intended as a Christmas gift, Roslyn chose to give it early — and the craftsman had the privilege of being present for that first moment. Watching a newly promoted Lieutenant run his hand across the grain and take in the details said everything that needed to be said.
